Bentocup is a copper citrate-based formulation for the elimination of unpleasant odors caused by the presence of sulfur compounds (hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan-type derivatives) in wine. These combined substances precipitate by the action of a specific granulated bentonite, leaving minimal levels of residual copper.
Copper citrate binds sulfur molecules with greater affinity than copper sulfate and has less impact on the sensory balance of the wine.
