30 Congrés i la Nit de L´enologia

The 30th edition of the Congrés i la Nit de L´Enologia and the 36th edition of the Congrés Internacional del Cava were held on 5 April and were for the first time organised jointly by the Associació Catalana d`Enòlegs, the Col.legi d`Enòlegs i Enòlogues de Catalunya and the Cofradía del Cava de Sant Sadurní.

AGROVIN was a sponsor of these events.

The events were held at the Wine Business School of Vilafranca del Penedés and revolved around “Sustainable winemaking – efficiency and sustainability of the vineyard and wine”, placing greater emphasis on sustainable phytopathology and various innovative aspects such as replacing sulphur dioxide with encapsulated essential oils or stimulating the vineyard with inactive yeasts to increase tannins.

The morning was full of technical conferences that dealt with various important topics. In the afternoon there was a sensory tasting of international sparkling wines which are currently setting the trend in this field. The goal was to try wines from other regions in order to learn about the sensory properties of wines produced in lands and varieties different from ours.
