The award, given by the California-based Wine Industry Network, highlights the role that Ultrawine Perseo technology is playing in the innovation of North American wineries.
November 13, 2024. – AGROVIN, a company specialized in oenological solutions and applications, has received the WINnovation Award, granted by the US Wine Industry Network in recognition of those companies that contribute to excellence in innovation in the wine industry.
The jury’s decision was determined by the transformation that the Ultrawine Perseo system technology has generated in the wine industry worldwide. This equipment, patented by Agrovin, uses the power of ultrasounds to extract the maximum aromatic and phenolic potential from the grapes, improving the quality of the wines without the need to increase pressure or temperature during the process. The result is higher quality wines, as well as savings of up to 15% in energy and up to 50% in maceration time and extraction of aromatic and polyphenolic compounds.
“Our team is proud that Wine Industry Network has taken into account the impact that Ultrawine Perseo is having on the innovation and evolution of the wine industry. This award motivates us to continue researching and developing new winemaking methods that allow all wineries to create excellent wines through increasingly efficient processes,” Agrovin’s management said.
This recognition is also an important boost to the international presence of Agrovin, which already has offices in Spain, France, Italy, Romania and the United States, and exports its winemaking solutions and equipment to more than 20 countries. An international expansion in which its commitment to wine innovation has played a fundamental role, in which the company invests heavily every year and that has led it to patent several advances that play an active role in the technological transformation of a sector as traditional as the wine industry.
George Christie, President of the Wine Industry Network, noted after the announcement of the award the importance of industry suppliers as agents of change through which wineries and vineyards increase their quality and efficiency. “The WINnovation Awards are a way to recognize the efforts of these suppliers and their contribution to the wine industry,” he said.
