{"id":89843,"date":"2018-03-06T12:34:55","date_gmt":"2022-11-04T17:17:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.agrovin.com\/uncategorized\/potassium-metabisulfite\/"},"modified":"2022-11-10T20:41:14","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T19:41:14","slug":"potassium-metabisulfite","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/agrovin.com\/en\/products-oenology\/antioxidants\/potassium-metabisulfite\/","title":{"rendered":"POTASSIUM METABISULFITE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>CHARACTERISTICS<\/h3>\n<p>The theoretical SO2 yield provided by K2S2O5 is 57%.<\/p>\n<p>A correct use of SO2 allows to obtain less oxidized wines, with a better color and aroma, and a lower volatile acidity, due to its effects as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antioxidant: it possesses reducing properties, capturing oxygen and preventing the appearance of oxidative notes.<\/li>\n<li>Antioxidase: Destroys oxidases, preventing cracks.<\/li>\n<li>Antimicrobial: It exerts an inhibitory activity on yeasts, lactic acid bacteria and acetic acid bacteria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are several ways of naming this compound, all equally valid, these are: Potassium metabisulfite, potassium disulfite, potassium pyrosulfite and potassium pentaoxodisulfate (IV).<\/p>\n<h3>APPLICATION<\/h3>\n<p>On must or wine.<\/p>\n<h3>DOSAGE<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>In harvest 6 &#8211; 16 g\/hL or 100kg of grapes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The dosage depends on the state of health of the grapes and the acidity of the musts or wines.<br \/>\nThe total sulfur dioxide content may not exceed 150 mg\/l for red wines and 200 mg\/l for white and ros\u00e9 wines.
